RIDI Lighting has launched the Classic - a new, slimline direct/indirect
lighting system which combines application versatility with superior,
leading edge modern aesthetics in an internationally acclaimed award-winning
design. The Classic Series features a reversible, shallow body design,
allowing luminaires to be surface mounted, suspended individually,
aligned continuously or arranged in different formations to suit
virtually any photometric or interior specification.
The innovative design ensures the Classic's suitability for a wide
variety of contemporary direct, direct/indirect and specialist workzone
lighting applications. Two style options are available where the
conventional Classic-A luminaire can be inverted to become the Classic-T,
if desired, while further options exist for direct mounting onto
internal walls. Developed in partnership with Germany's Storp Design
and a recent winner of the prestigious iF Design Award for 2001*,
the Classic Series also offers a stylish yet simple lighting solution
perfectly suited to modern commercial environments.
All Classic luminaires
feature the latest T5 multi-watt transformers which are purpose-to
offer in-built upgradeability for the various lamp wattage permutations
available. RIDI also offers a full range of complementary Classic
components. These include speaker modules, integral LV track, gimbal
spotlights and special junction points for creating enclosed or
continuous systems. The Classic range also takes advantage of the
very latest in louvre technology and can be fitted with a wide choice
of controllers.
Precision built
using high-grade, extruded aluminium for the body and die-cast zinc
for the end-caps, each Classic luminaire is then powder coated in
a special titanium colour finish. This ensures a smooth and complementary
integration between the Classic and many modern interior surroundings.

Editor's note:
Beating off competition from 700 companies and 1320 products from
30 countries, RIDI's Classic was awarded the prestigious iF Product
Design Award by an international panel of world-class design experts.
