RIDI
RINGS THE CHANGES FOR PROJECT TELECOM
Significant cost
savings have been delivered for Project Telecom thanks to the new
LUXMATE lighting management system supplied by RIDI Lighting Ltd.
The lighting scheme at Project Telecom's new building on its Nottingham
campus also offers optimum lighting control and compliance with
the latest CIBSE LG3a standards.
One of the Midland's
fastest growing businesses, Project Telecom has defied the downturn
in the telecoms sector by expanding and has recently completed a
24,000ft² two-storey building to meet the increasing demand
for the company's services. The building is designed to accommodate
300 staff working in customer services and features open plan workzones
and circulation areas, as well as a new presentation suite that
showcases Project Telecom's latest voice and data technology.
With the creation
of a pleasant working environment a priority, RIDI worked closely
with the project contractor HS Group Services to achieve a lighting
scheme that meets the latest requirements for LG3a, whilst also
utilising the available daylight to maximum benefit. In the open
plan areas RIDI's recessed ECALUX luminaires (with 500cd parabolic
louvres) - in conjunction with AIDA-W wall uplighters - are controlled
by Luxmate TLE units and ceiling-mounted LSD daylight sensors to
provide a constant 450 lux at all times. Programmed for both manual
and automatic operation (and requiring minimum user input), the
system controls the lighting levels to harmonise with the available
daylight, and in the process, generate savings of up to 75% over
traditional solutions.
David Sheath of HS Group Services comments: "Because RIDI could
offer a single-source supply for luminaires and lighting management
it was the perfect partner for this project. The Luxmate technology
has helped us take advantage of the large amount of daylight entering
the building, and the RIDI luminaires are good looking, reliable
and cost-efficient. A great result all-round."
Providing controllable
ambient lighting to the state-of-the-art presentation rooms are
RIDI's modular recessed uplighter MIELA luminaires, twinned with
Tridonic ECO digital ballast (complete with switchDIM function)
for seamless manual adjustment of lighting levels. The ever-popular
MIELA benefits from a recent upgrade that now ensures improved performance
and enhanced aesthetics.
