RIDI Lighting Limited has supplied its ALENA range of suspended
direct/indirect luminaires in standard white for the office renovation
of the Walsh Trott Chick Smith advertising agency in West London.
This busy advertising
agency, which occupies the attic space of Holden House, has been
refurbished to a design by Allies & Morrison Architects and
lighting consultant Peter Deer Associates. Softroom Architects,
the interior designer, has created a dynamic 60m corridor office
environment using sloping glazed partitions that provide the staff
with a private working space but also offer a non-solid partition
system that gives the feeling of freedom and space.
RIDI's ALENA range
with louvred optical control, is a slimline, modern and highly flexible
luminaire system specifically designed to exploit the new breed
of efficient T5 lamps. At Walsh Trott Chick Smith's offices, 35W
T5 lamps help to create a pleasing, comfortably lit visual environment
that works hand in hand with the natural daylight within the building.
The luminaires are designed to work well in modest ceiling height
applications.
Allies
& Morrison Architects chose RIDI's suspended direct/indirect
ALE range and profiled blanking sections to provide a continuous
appearance down the corridor. The luminaires for corridor zones
were also supplied with blue filter sleeves for the lamps to differentiate
these areas. Paul Summerlin of Allies Morrison Architects commented:
"We were already very familiar with the quality of the RIDI
ALENA range as we have luminaires from this range installed at our
London offices. RIDI products were chosen for this installation
because after looking at comparable products on the market, the
RIDI range was the superior choice for both aesthetics and cost".
