LUXvision Support

For support in using LUXvision please contact us at the Harlow office (01279) 450882 or alternatively email support@ridi.co.uk The most commonly encountered problems when installing and using LUXvision are listed below in our FAQ

FAQ

Installation

Why do I get an error message about ODBC failing when I try to install LUXvision?
During installation ODBC components are installed, therefore under Windows NT4.0/2000/XP administrator rights are required. Either log in as administrator or ask your system adminsitartor to install the software.

I recieve an error message that the necessary file GLU32.DLL was not found, why?
OpenGL was not supported under Windows 95 Release 1. OpenGL is a basic requirement for LUXvision. The solution is to download and install this file which adds OpenGL support to Windows 95A

Upgrade from version 1.0 - When I try to upgrade from version 1.0 I get this error message.

The Windows registry needs to be modified to allow you to install LUXvision 1.5. Either download the file DelLuxvision.inf then right click on the file and choose install. Or alternatively look at this guide on how to remove the entries from the registry manually.

Using Luxvision

When I attempt to view the results of my calculations I get the follwing message "Suchmodul kann nicht erstellt werden" instead of the results.
The reason for this is that LUXvision displays its results in HTML format and uses Internet explorer to do so. Please install version 4 or above. Internet explorer 5.0 is included on the LUXvision CD in the \MSIE folder.

Why is the text on the results page so large?
The text size is defined by the settings in internet explorer. To change these, open internet explorer and in the View menu set the 'type size' to medium.

Why is the grid not diaplyed even though I have clicked on the show grid button?
LUXvision requires a 16bit or higher display to show the grid. Set the number of colours on your screen to a colour depth of 65536 or 16bit.

Why are the 3D views in dark colours even though I have sufficient lighting in the room?
LUXvision requires a 16bit or higher display to show the grid. Set the number of colours on your screen to a colour depth of 65536 or 16bit.

ATI Graphics Cards
Additionaly we have had a number of problems with the 3D display from users with ATI graphics cards, in every case installing new graphics card drivers has solved the problem.
